Natural Ways to Avoid the Flu

It’s beginning to look a lot like….flu season? This year flu season has started earlier than usual, which could mean more cases. It is really important to take preventive steps and avoid getting sick this holiday season! Here are some natural steps to avoid getting sick. 1. Wash your hands Simple as some soap and water! 2. Avoid touching your face If you do touch your face a lot….go back to tip #1! 3. Avoid being around sick people If you are weary of others that are sick, wear a face mask in public places to avoid spread of germs. 4. Get enough sleep Try to increase your sleep by a half hour-hour every night. 5. Stay Hydrated Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and other hydrating liquids such as coconut water! 6. Eat a clean diet with vitamin rich vegetables Stick to whole foods that are naturally rich in vitamins. 7. Reduce alcohol consumption Alcohol will weaken your immune system, so lay off the booze for a bit! 8. Don’t smoke This will also weaken your immune system. If there weren’t enough reasons on why to quit…add this one to the list. 9. Regular exercise Aim for 30-60 minutes of physical activity 3-4 times a week. However if you are already feeling sick, skip the workout and let your body rest. 10.
