Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar in Fort Lauderdale - Gluten Free Grubspots

Hi folks! Is it just me or does it seem to be a lot colder like...everywhere?! My boss Sara and I spent the 13th-18th down in Ft. Lauderdale demoing Truebar at the Publix Health & Fitness Expo and Publix A1A marathon. We thought we were trading in the typical New England February cold for a equatorial paradise but, mother nature had other plans for a cold front to cover the entire United States apparently! Aside from the first day we were there the highest the temperature got while we were in Florida was 52 degrees the majority of the time it was 42 degrees with 20-30 mile/hour winds!

Enough of my complaining at least we were not surrounded by snow plus we got to eat at Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar, and what a treat it was! Rocco's has 5 locations throughout Florida and provides an authentic taste of

Mexico (food & interior decoration) with a tremendous atmosphere. Along with 225 tequilas to sample Rocco's also provides table side made fresh guacomole, I know what your thinking holy mole!

This is a bit embarrassing but at the same time it speaks for the quality of overall experience I had at Rocco's. Out of the 5 days I was in Ft. Lauderdale I visited Rocco's 3 times; and yes two of those visits were within the same day. I know, the Food Network likely won't be contacting me anytime soon to explore new restaurants across America but, like I said it shows that Rocco's was excellent.

Blackened Mahi Mahi tacos. I decided to put some of the freshly made guacamole on them as well!

Each time I ate at Rocco's I ordered the freshly made guacamole, (I mean c'mon how am I supposed to say no to that) along with 3 tacos. (Okay maybe I ordered 4 one of the times!) Along with a huge variety of tequila, Rocco's also has quite the assortment of tacos. My favorite was by far the blackened mahi mahi ( I mean come on its Florida, fresh fish is a no brainer!) but I also tried the shrimp, steak, chicken, and mushroom. In addition to the ones I tasted they also had slow roasted pork, ground beef, and sausage options all available in hard shells or soft corn gluten free tortilla's.

I mentioned a tremendous atmosphere and I didn't just mean the friendly staff, mariachi music and intriguing decorations. Rocco Mangel the owner of Rocco's Taco's is known to bounce around his locations to amp up the party with free tequila shots, giveaways and superstar guests! My advice if you are in Ft. Lauderdale and looking for a gluten free meal with serious flavor, stop in to Rocco's Tacos chances are you will stay, as well as become a regular!
